Artists Circle Fine Art is very proud to be associated with The Tower Building. The number of awards the building has received and publications in which it has been featured as a result of the project’s green design is truly impressive. Every building detail was worked out by the Tower Companies to set an example of how environmentally friendly a building could be. From the glass skin, to the air exchange system, to its position on the site, no detail was overlooked.
There were two paintings Artists Circle Fine Art commissioned for the building’s lobby. The first commission was by Tula Telfair. She painted a beautiful, alluring and captivating landscape in her immediately recognizable multi-panel style canvas. The images in Tula’s work had a building engineer and visiting contractor arguing: “that field is right near where I grew up outside Nashville” ...”No, no, it is by my parents place in Vermont!” The artist, born in Gabon, and living in New York paints from her imagination.
The second commission was by Frederick Nichols. His painting for the lobby is an active splash of tumbling colors and light. For thirty years, Fred has been drawn to the sylvan interior. His piece for the Tower Building depicts the literal cascade of a forest stream in his native southwest Virginia. |
